The Nepal Music Fund was established to support and celebrate music through education, performance, creativity, preservation, and cultural exchange.
We believe music has the power to connect people, preserve cultural traditions, inspire creativity, and bring communities together. The Fund supports individuals and initiatives that contribute to the development, appreciation, preservation, and promotion of music connected to Nepal.
Our Mission
The Nepal Music Fund supports musicians, educators, students, organizations, and musical projects that strengthen the musical community and help preserve and share Nepal's rich musical heritage.
While we have a special connection to Nepali music and cultural traditions, we welcome creativity across musical genres and styles. We believe that Nepali musical traditions can be preserved not only by maintaining traditional forms, but also by allowing them to evolve, interact with other musical traditions, and inspire new generations of musicians.

Shyamantak Music Award
Recognizing and encouraging musical creativity, achievement, and inspiration.
The Shyamantak Music Award was established in loving memory of Shyamantak, a passionate musician and songwriter who believed deeply in the importance of artistic creativity.
The award recognizes musicians at different stages of their musical journey—from promising emerging musicians to accomplished and established artists whose work inspires others.
Recipients are selected for their musical accomplishment, creativity, dedication, growth, cultural contribution, or ability to inspire others through music.

Music Support & Grants
The Nepal Music Fund may provide support for musical projects and initiatives that contribute to education, performance, recording, research, preservation, cultural programming, and the promotion of music connected to Nepal.
Support may be provided to individuals, organizations, or collaborative projects whose work advances the Fund's mission.
Music & Cultural Heritage
We seek to encourage the preservation, exploration, and continued evolution of Nepal's diverse musical traditions.
This may include traditional instruments, musical forms, languages, rhythms, melodies, performance traditions, documentation, education, and collaborations that introduce Nepali musical heritage to new audiences and generations.
