Nepal Music Fund was established to support and celebrate music through education, performance, creativity, research, preservation, and cultural exchange.

We believe music has the power to inspire creativity, connect generations, preserve cultural heritage, and bring communities together.

Our Mission

Nepal Music Fund supports musicians, educators, students, researchers, writers, publishers, organizations, and musical initiatives that encourage creativity and help preserve, promote, and share Nepali music and musical traditions.

Our goal is not only to preserve these traditions, but also to encourage musicians and other contributors to explore, reinterpret, document, and bring Nepali music and instruments to new audiences and future generations.

Shyamantak Music Award

Recognizing and encouraging musical creativity, achievement, and inspiration.

Established in 2018 in loving memory of Shyamantak, the Award recognizes musical achievement, creativity, and meaningful contributions to Nepali music.

Music Support & Grants

Nepal Music Fund provides support for selected musical projects, initiatives, and educational opportunities that advance our mission of encouraging creativity and strengthening Nepali music and musical traditions.

Support may include music education, performances, recordings, research, documentation, preservation, cultural programming, or other initiatives that make a meaningful contribution to Nepali music.

Support opportunities are considered by Nepal Music Fund as appropriate, based on available resources, the merits of individual projects, and alignment with our mission.

If you are developing a musical project or initiative and have a plan in place, you may submit a letter of intent outlining your project, goals, and proposed activities at any time through our Contact Us page.
