Apply for Shyamantak Music Award

The award recognizes musical creativity, achievement, dedication, and contribution across all musical genres, with a special appreciation for ethnic Nepali music, instruments, and musical traditions.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be actively pursuing or engaged in music as a student, amateur, emerging, professional, or established musician.
Work in any musical genre or tradition.
Be a resident of Nepal, of Nepali origin, or have a meaningful and demonstrated connection to ethnic Nepali music, instruments, or musical traditions.

Applicants do not need to perform ethnic Nepali music or play traditional Nepali instruments.

We welcome nominations across all musical genres and backgrounds.

A nominee might be someone who has inspired other musicians, influenced a community or generation, mentored others, helped build a music scene, or made a lasting contribution through their music.
