Shyamantak Music Scholarship
The scholarship was established in August of 2017 in memory of Shyamantak. The scholarship is administered by Nepalese Community Foundation, with a mission to support needy causes through promotion of Nepalese arts, culture and heritage.
The scholarship is merit and need based with a goal to support research, promotion and education in Nepali ethnic music. To celebrate successes, applicants may also apply for accomplishments within the past year. Accomplishments could be graduations, concerts, recordings, publications etc.
Application requirements:
Priority will be given to the study, research or promotion of Nepali ethnic music or traditional instruments
Study of Nepali music with other styles of music is also encouraged
No restrictions on age, demographics or geographical locations
The scholarship is Need and Merit based, and financial documentations may be required as needed
Demonstration of musicianship with a recording, performance, or audition in person will be required during second round of selection process
The amount of scholarship award will vary, based on the number of recipients as decided by the scholarship committee
One or more reference(s) from qualified musicians, music teachers or other music professionals
Submit online application with clear goals, objectives or accomplishments
